wef societal ecosystems 300 On Wednesday 11th September 2013, Lord Wei moderated a session at the WEF New Champions Meeting exploring the subject, ‘Strategic Shifts in Societal Ecosystems’. The session looked at ‘What trends, business models and emerging technologies are transforming the relationship between business and civil society?’ It explored; engagement with the rising middle class in emerging markets, provision of technical assistance to support business innovation, rapid rise in non-governmental delivery of public services and shifts in regulatory and funding patterns. The Annual Meeting of the New Champions at Dalian, People’s Republic of China, 11-13 September 2013, is the foremost global business gathering in Asia.
